Specialisations and Interests

Leza specialises in corporate commercial and property commercial transactions, conveyancing and notarial work.

Leza heads up the Corporate Commercial and Property & Conveyancing Departments in Johannesburg.

Her corporate commercial experience includes advising on and drafting shareholders agreements, share sale agreements, memoranda of incorporation, trust deeds, partnership agreements, agreements of sale of business, joint venture agreements and franchise agreements. She has also attended to various Company restructures in order to assist clients in complying with the Codes of Good Practice contained in the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act. Previous property commercial transactions where she has played an active advisory role include the development, sale and/or lease of commercial premises, hotels, game farms, wind farms and biogas developments as well as land used for mining operations and the erection of telecommunications infrastructure. She has acted for various landowners in respect of land claims made by dispossessed communities, drafting the resultant agreements of settlement, sale and/or lease.

Leza has extensive conveyancing experience, including township developments, sectional title and share block scheme developments, subdivisions and consolidations. She has also acted as panel attorney for the 5 major banks in respect of mortgage bonds as well as notarial bonds.

Her experience as Notary Public encompasses all notarial deeds, including long term leases, notarial ties, cessions and servitudes.

Leza has a special interest in corporate legal training and has developed and facilitated a number of commercial corporate training programmes, covering practice areas including the drafting of commercial contracts, principles of business law, conveyancing practice and the law of sale and lease.

Leza is a member of the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA).
